ARHC TRAINING CLIENT SINCE: MAY 2006
OCCUPATION: ORTHOPEDIC NURSE
WHAT WERE YOUR GOALS?
Why I have always loved working out with Mary or Ken, but I would lose weight and gain it back again. I have always worked evening and had trouble finding ways to eat in a healthy manner. There were too many sugary treats left at the nurses’ station and it was hard to not eat them. (Especially when I was tired after a long shift!). After getting a bad report from my doctor last April, I finally realized I needed to lose weight and to keep it off. If I did not I was facing having to take all kinds of medications that I did not want to be on.
HOW DID ARHC CLUB HELP WITH YOUR GOALS?
Mary and Ken immediately set up a healthy eating plan for me, which included snacks to have at work. I was weighed and measured so we could track my progress. When I have slipped back a little, I was encouraged to get back on track. I now understand that excuses do not help me get to my goals but hard work and perseverance does.

While continuing to work out twice per week with a trainer and staying on my Advocare nutrition, I continue to walk to burn calories. The result is since April I have lost 55 pounds and lots and lots of inches. I was in a size 22 and now wear a size 12.

My outlook on life had improved dramatically. For the first time in years I am happy with who I am. I no longer get upset about little things and do not feel that overwhelming since of unhappiness that I have felt for years. I have reached out to make new friends and am doing things with old friends. I was so tired before I lost this weight I did not want to do anything. Today I am happy and enjoying life!
